This document provides specific and detailed information for preparing your future master schedule.
As soon as students are assigned to their "Next Year School," counselors can begin meeting with students to capture each student's course requests for the next school year.
It is important to make sure all new staff members are identified and all staff members not returning are inactive. Time can also be saved by assigning every teacher to a classroom in the Staff table so that room assignment is automatically added when the teacher is assigned to a class meet.
In order to drive specific students in to specific sections during the auto-scheduling process, there are two options, Scheduling Categories and Manual Future Scheduling. Both are explained in this documentation.
Instead of assigning class meets to specific teachers and class periods by editing each class meet, the Interactive Scheduling Board creates a graphical interface for dragging class meet "chips" on the board.
Ensuring that the correct number of sections are available for the number of course requests is vital to an effective master schedule. Using the Analyze Classes option can assist in appropriate placement of meets.
Reviewing current year courses and sections for co reqs, section numbers, and caps can assist with identifying issues and correcting them in future year.
If a copy of the current schedule is needed to share with others, the "Export to Excel" option can be used on the Interactive Scheduling Board.
Often when using the interactive board, the alignment of A/B day and meet periods becomes skewed. This utility will realign appropriate meet periods with the require A or B day assignment.
When working with courses with small numbers of sections it is often helpful to identify students who are in specific combinations of courses.
After verifying your master schedule is ready, processing psuedo schedule runs and analyzing the results can begin.
Creating an Actual schedule and using the Unschedule Utility for weekly reporting.
After the End of Year processing, continue to use the FY tools such as Psuedo Scheduling Runs to finalize the schedule in Current Year.
After auto scheduling is complete, add individual students to classes allowing them to work with online courses.
Use the feedback from the auto scheduling process to help determine the best way to resolve individual schedule conflicts.
