Securly Alerts

Securly Aware Bot  - Aware is a unique tool by Securly that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to detect cyber-bullying, self-harm, profanity and grief sentiments in students' Gmail, Outlook, Gdrive, OneDrive, Gchat, MS Teams chat, G-Sheets, G-Slides. Aware gives you the ability to know which students are struggling so you can intervene quickly and early — before things get worse.

Securly Alerts - Support your students when they need you most. Rely on On-Call to help you identify and respond to students at risk of self-harm, suicide, bullying, and violence. The On-Call Team analyzes your alerts from Securly Aware and notifies you immediately—in under 5 minutes—of extreme risk situations.

Upon notification of a Securly Aware Bot or Alert, the following steps should be taken:

• Reply all “I have this one”

• Follow up with the student, if appropriate.  

  • Depending on the situation, notify the admin team, police officer, parents, etc.

  • Confidence level 1-5:  High confidence generally indicates judgments based on high-quality information, and/or the nature of the issue makes it possible to render a solid judgment. A “high confidence” judgment is not a fact or a certainty, however, and still carries a risk of being wrong. 

    • Counselors will only receive confidence levels 3-5.

• Complete a guidance visit in Skyward

• Make a copy of this shared Google form,  Securly Follow Up  and share with your campus admin team to keep track of the alerts and outcome.  I have added an example to this form. 

As a reminder, Securly Aware monitors students after school hours and on the weekends.  If the situation is immediate, counselors and I will receive a text requiring immediate attention, which could result in the following actions:

• Phone call home to parents/students

• If the parents don’t answer, Forney PD (Forney city limits)  or Kaufman County (outside of city limits) should be contacted for a wellness visit.
