Abstract
Astronomy is considered one of the oldest branches of Science, and is linked to several areas of knowledge. Thus, indigenous knowledge in relation to Astronomy is little explored in formal education, showing the need to demystify the belief that there is only one way to study the universe, emphasizing the diversity of physical and cultural universes. The present work investigates the possibilities of Ethnoastronomy as a tool for scientific enculturation in Science Teaching. This is a bibliographical research, having as a theoretical framework the Reference Curricular Document of the State of Ceará (RCDS), the National Common Curricular Base (NCCB), books, articles, theses and dissertations, aiming to encourage attitudes that stimulate curiosity, respect for the diversity of opinions, as well as perceiving the cultural plurality that circumscribes the social idealization of reality. From this theoretical assumption, although the astronomical knowledge of the indigenous people is about to disappear in Science, it is a valuable knowledge that broadens the world view.
