Resumo

Este artigo traz um breve histórico dos 51 anos da Física na Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso (UFMT). Desde a criação em 1972 até os dias atuais. Incluindo uma descrição sobre os anos iniciais da criação do Departamento de Física e Química, as mudanças ocorridas no curso de graduação nas décadas de 1970 e 1980, a criação dos programas de pós-graduação começando no início dos anos 2000, além da criação do curso de Bacharelado em Física presencial e o curso EaD (ensino a distância) em Licenciatura em Ciências Naturais e Matemática. Além disso, este artigo finaliza com as perspectivas futuras para o Instituto de Física da UFMT.

Abstract

This article presents a brief history of the 51 years old of Physics at Federal University of Mato Grosso. From its creation in the year 1972 to the present day. Including a description of the initial years of the creation of the Department of Physics and Chemistry, the changes that occurred in the undergraduate course in the 1970s and 1980s, the beginning of the postgraduate programs in the early 2000s, in addition to the creation of the Bachelors degree Physics (regular course) and the distance learning course in the Degree in Natural Sciences and Mathematics. In addition, this article ends with future perspectives for the Institute of Physics at UFMT.
