Careers

In order to create opportunities for students to gain knowledge and understanding of potential career choices, Homestead Senior Secondary College will be offering the following programs:

Career Action Plan (CAPs)

All students in Year 10 will spend time working on their Managed Individual Pathways (CAPs) plan with a Pathways team member. The plan is designed to help students become more aware of their personal strengths, weaknesses and interests. This intensive process will assist students in determining possible areas for employment and/or further study.

Alternative Pathways

A range of alternative Pathways may be explored based on the individual needs and circumstances of each student.

These may include a variety of short courses, which complement school education or a range of Certificate courses run at further education institutions.

Employment options and apprenticeship options can also be explored.

Extensive consultation with students, parent/guardians and teachers are a part of this process.
