Product Design Technology - Textiles

COURSE CONTENT


Theory

Students investigate the work of textile designers and from past to present. They research to make judgements about the appropriateness of design ideas, the design elements and principles and the selection of new emerging materials and of tools and the quality of textile items. Students will use this knowledge to transfer within practical projects.


Practical

Students will use the design process to investigate and define, generate and design to produce quality products.

Students will explore this by practical activities based on the following topics:

AOS1-Design and the practice of designers.

AOS2-Properties and performance of textiles

AOS3-Textiles and Society


Course fee: $80 per student per semester will be applicable to cover the cost of material used.
