'My Dad's Holden'

Photomedia

My dad and share the same interest in cars, it is this interest that I wanted to explore in my artwork. The car I have taken pictures of is a 1962 EJ holden, that belongs to my dad. This is the car that we often go on drives in to catch up in and go to car meets. I chose to photograph an old car to show of the individuality of cars that we no longer see in the present car market, the lines and shapes seen present in these older cars are not around to be seen in the current available market for cars. I took the photos visible in my work over 2 shoots and showed off the various elements of the car. All photos were taken for my work were with a Cannon 80D. The first shoot was in done in more lighting so it could really bring out the colour of the exterior of the car. The second shoot was done in lower lighting to focus on and broadcast the contrasting colours found present in the car, for example the reds of the engine compared to the darkness of its surroundings.
