‘Movement Towards Escape’
Collection of Work
1 film, 10 photographs
For my work, I chose to use the combination of a short film and 10 photographs, 5 still photos and 5 moving photos. For the film, the video clips are edited into the music and is in sync with the beat of the song. This engages the audience and creates a unique experience whilst watching the film. This is influenced by Edgar Wright’s ‘Baby Driver’. The 5 still images were taken with the lighting and colours at most attention to detail to capture the audience’s attention and to highlight the parts of the motorbike.
The film represents the movement and is shown with the extremely fast cuts and fast paced tone of the film. I took a series of photographs to accompany the film. The 5 still images represent the parts of the motorcycle that enables it to create movement. The 5 moving images are a direct representation of movement. My title ‘Movement Towards Escape’ conveys the movement leading into escape, and the freedom that is associated with riding motorbikes. It is an escape from the stresses of the world.
