For my Body Of Work, I chose to do photography as I believe it is the most expressive and authentic art form. I was heavily influenced by various urban and automotive photographers that I discovered across social media as these photographers displayed the same type of locations and colours that I attempted to replicate in my work. I shot my photos primarily in the Sydney city, however due to lockdown restrictions I had to improvise my choice of locations. When taking the shots I shot the majority of them in raw and used either a 28-70mm lens on my Sony a7 mark 3 or a 50mm on my Canon 1100d. I then used lightroom classic to edit my photo’s. When editing, I tried to make my photo’s sharper as I liked the precision it gives an image, and this was a common theme in the edits that inspired me.

Although my original idea for my major work was to do portrait model photography, I later changed my topic to urban photography with a specific focus on leading lines. I like the way the leading lines affect composition, sometimes guiding you through an image and how It brings attention to a certain portion of the photograph. My work was influenced heavily by modern day urban photographers especially in terms of editing. My title ‘Into the city’ is a play on the idea of leading lines ‘leading’ into the urban city landscapes. Throughout the images I used a mixture if colours however majority of the photographs I edited to be whiter or greyer and have an increase in luminance and detail instead of contrast.
