A flight of butterflies brings auspicious news. A young mother’s love cradles her unborn child. The pair of cranes, representing a long-lasting marriage, dance in joy. My mother resembles a lotus, struggling throughout motherhood, she grows from mud. Now virtuous, selfless, and resilient, she flourishes from it, pure and unstained. She creates a sanctuary; three koi fish, representing happiness and prosperity, swim playfully in the serene waters that surrounds her. As she grows older, she reminisces the past. Despite the turmoil of motherhood, her journey, although never-ending, was “a gift”. To me, my mum is a magician, the hero and all heroes, the person I look up to most.
