Today was our first visit of the year, and for Gabbie Lucy and Anna, their first visit with the school. It was also Lewis' last visit!
On the way there a massive truck came round the corner and we all ran from it. Luckily we all got to the gardens absolutely fine, if a little tired. Mrs Mitchell says we were never in danger because she is very good at crossing the road.
When we got there a small group of us went to dig up mint with Jerry from the herb bed. We used large and small garden forks. The garden forks were used to loosen the mint and the little ones were used to dig it up. Then we put it in a bucket which was emptied into a wheelbarrow. We did it so we could sell the mint at the summer fair and because the roots of mint go crazy and grow everywhere. Next we planted them in little pots for the fair.
While the mint was being dug up the rest of the class was doing some artwork. We were painting flowers! Some of us were painting dandelions, some of us were painting tulips.
