Now that it's after the October break, we're bringing our gardening and learning about growing indoors. We're hoping our next step will help us understand about how to use our produce, and to be able to use it as inspiration for our Art and Textiles work.
Today we were in the classroom and we had a visitor called Natalie. Natalie is a artist but also likes the wild. She knows lots about science and soil too. Today we made wormeries with sand, soil, food scraps and some water. We layered the sand then soil and we did that about 3 or 4 times using plastic bottles. We did this to see how important the work that worms do to the environment and to see how they worked. We kept them in the quiet room in the school, which isn't too hot or to cold it was just right. We kept them there for 2 weeks.(see Thursday 9th November for the results)
