We were in the classroom again today and Di came to visit us. She taught us the important parts of a loom, like the WARP and the WEFT. The WARP is the strings that go down the way vertically and the WEFT is the strings which you weave in between the WARP and you continue to do this for a while until you have finished.
Di did weaving with lots of us in pair. We were weaving a giant picture of our Wormery from last week! We have to weave all the different layers into the picture, to show all the layers of soil, sand, grit and vegetable matter on the top.
We're going to learn about where cotton comes from too, which we might use in our Textiles project over this term.
