Today Natalie came back to see us along with Di. Natalie brought microscopes for us to look through, 4 normal and 1 digital one. We looked at loads of different mini beasts through the microscopes and we had to draw them on some paper. We made paint out of soil, paprika and turmeric were you and 1 teaspoon of the powder you're using and 2 teaspoons of water and a drop or two of gum arabic. It was really nice to make art out of Science! We then had to paint the drawings with our paint. There were loads of different types of tiny insects and micro-organisms in the soil.
We also checked up on our wormeries and later set them free at the park. We think the worms had enjoyed their lives in the wormery - they had plenty of soil to burrow through and lots of vegetable bits to eat. They mixed up the soil quite a lot. That keeps it healthy!
Unfortunately we don't have any photos of us kids today, because Mrs Mitchell was off sick!
We are going to add some photos of our drawings soon... watch this space!
