Network Engineer Interview
What I Did ✅:
For this artifact, I completed an interview with the East Penn Network Engineer. I was able to sit one on one and gain insight into what his job entails with the district and ask questions about the field of work I am exploring. I feel the knowledge gained by professional interviews helps to continually make improvements in areas and departments that play a very important role in the organization as a whole.
What I Learned 🧠:
In the area of technology and wireless infrastructure, there are many moving parts and things that happen behind the scenes that keep an entire school district running. I feel it is key in any professional area that you learn about the hardware and software necessary to run and before taking LLT 525 Computer Networking, I knew very little. I learned integral parts about WANs, LANs, VPNs, firewalls, hubs and switches, wireless and so much more which helped me converse much easier.
How I Will Grow 🌱:
Since this assignment, I have grown professionally with the East Penn Tech Department and feel more confident in troubleshooting issues that arise. Recently we have discovered some firewall issues on student devices when accessing from home and having the knowledge of how this works and what the "lingo" is made it easier for me to problem solve and collaborate with the whole team. I look forward to being "that" classroom teacher that has the knowledge, skills, and abilities to understand the networking technologies and systems that are an integral part of the K-12 virtual world of learning. I will continue to support the tech department in any way possible.
