Portfolio Supervision Model
What I Did ✅:
I am so excited to finally be a tenured teacher at East Penn School District and for my first year of choosing a supervision model, I was able to use this Digital Portfolio. I will be submitting and reviewing this portfolio with my supervising principal this year and using it as evidence in my daily teachings with children and as a model of supportive resource with families and colleagues. I am a big proponent of 'work smarter not harder' and the best way to dig into all of this research, data and resources is to utilize it with the Danielson Model for supervision to help me grow as a professional.
What I Learned 🧠:
Earning my masters in Instructional Technology helped me gain the confidence needed to support and coach many of my veteran teacher colleagues. Technology has grown and changed not only in the recent pandemic years but overall in the last 20 years of education. I have learned to trust this process and collaborate with my principal and building staff and showcase the work that I have done as evidence in new and effective teaching strategies.
How I Will Grow 🌱:
The Danielson Framework for Teaching (more information can be found here https://danielsongroup.org/framework) is the tool that the East Penn School District uses as a framework for teacher evaluation of "good teaching" practices. There are four domains and within each one always room to grow. I am looking forward to working with my building principle with this digital portfolio of my work over the past four years and implementing some new strategies and goal setting to improve in planning and preparation, classroom environment, instruction, and professional responsibilities.
“We need technology in every classroom and in every student and teacher’s hand, because it is the pen and paper of our time, and it is the lens through which we experience much of our world.”
