Collaborative Google Drive
What I Did ✅:
In addition to our districts Seesaw activities library, the kindergarten team has also developed a shared Google drive for resources and ideas that are unrelated to Seesaw specifically. Here we have added things like parent letters, meet the teacher slide shows, open house presentations, printable paper activities that relate to our phonics curriculum and much more. By promoting, adding and supporting my co-workers to add to this library we have grown from just a few folders to now over 20.
What I Learned 🧠:
Sharing has never been so easy and Google drive has been a game changer for myself and many co-workers. It is convenient and easy to view, edit and share so many great resources with colleagues who do not work in the same building. The G-Suite is integrated into all of our districts devices and the cloud storage helps us to save space on our district servers. I have learned that adding resources for others is just one way to help support staff and students and to be a part of a larger digital community making a difference. The 'make a copy' feature is wonderful because it has given me the freedom to edit and change resources to fit my own needs.
How I Will Grow 🌱:
The greatest part about technology and collaboration is that it is constantly changing and depends on the users that promote and utilize it. I will continue to grow as a tech educator but only if I utilize the resources available to me, do my part in creating new resources and promoting and supporting others to use the resources themselves. Google drive is free and can help so many teachers declutter their workspace of paper.
