Apple Teacher Certificate
What I Did ✅:
During my internship with the tech department at East Penn School District, I quickly identified the need and benefits of Apple Teacher Certification. We are a 1:1 elementary level iPad school district servicing approximately 1,000+ students with apple products and teachers with Mac laptops. The Apple Teacher Certification consisted of free learning modules for professional development utilizing Pages, Numbers, Keynote, Playgrounds, iMovie and Garageband. All of these programs are free for students and teachers to transform learning and unlock the magic of apple products.
What I Learned 🧠:
Through the process of Apple Teacher Certification, I learned how to use and implement all of the free applications that are accessible to students with iPads and teachers with Macs. The training was self-paced and available online 24/7 which made it easy to complete with a busy daily schedule. Many other interfaces have certification programs as well such as Google and Nearpod but I found this one to be most beneficial for all of my uses. iMovie was by far the most useful and I have already created some amazing compilation keepsake videos for students and families. I have also designed a few fun and engaging activities using Garageband for my kindergarten class. Being a classroom Apple Teacher is also a wonderful resume builder.
How I Will Grow 🌱:
As an educator, I can continue to build on my skills and knowledge of the products I use daily in teaching. I will better be able to support my colleagues in implementing some tech savvy and innovative ideas into their classrooms as well.
