COURSE DESCRIPTION: Grades: 10-12; Prerequisite: Art1P

This course will refine the skills learned in Art 1P. Many projects will be similar, but will be more elaborate and complex with higher expectations from the teacher. Additional projects involve painting on a larger scale which includes our famous ceiling tile painting that is a trademark of student artwork here at Denair High School.

PROJECTS: The projects listed in the Art 2 drop down menu have links that lead to an instructional videos or worksheets that explain each unit. Click on the link to access these instructions. Art 2 project dates are not actually due on the dates specified. They are merely guide lines to keep the student on track so as not to fall behind. However, all projects passed the due date must be turned in a week before the quarter's end to receive a grade.

Tests & Exercises: Approximately every 2 weeks you will be given a test or exercise that matches the state standards. Most tests &/or exercises will entail knowledge of the “Elements of Art” and “Principles of Design” as well as terminology used within the artistic realm. Tests should be turned in directly to the teacher the period and day they are taken or due. Students that were absent the day of these assignments are responsible for asking the teacher for them upon their return. A student may not make up a test or exercise more than one week after the original date.
