Whitney is the daughter of Jimmy and Christina Arion. She was coached by Randy German.
Whitney was a multiple time 1st team all-state selection (2010 and 2011), and was Delphi's first ever participant in the Softball North-South All-star game in 2011. She was the first player to be awarded the J&C Small School Player of the year twice, in her sophomore ('09) and senior ('11) campaigns. The shortstop graduated as the most prolific hitter in Oracle history. Her career batting average as an Oracle was 0.454, with a 0.596 mark as a senior. With a senior campaign that saw her record only one strikeout at the plate. Whitney was a natural leader on the back to back Sectional Championship teams of '10 and '11, and a member of Delphi's first ever Softball Regional Championship.
She played her college career at the Division 1 level for the University of Louisville. She would go on to be a four time all conference selection as a 3rd baseman and shortstop for the Cardinals. After graduation from Louisville she accepted a contract to play professionally with the Pennsylvania Rebellion in Pittsburgh where she competed for 2 years (2015, 2016) in the NPF.Â
After hanging up her spikes, because as she says, "I'm a lifer", she became a collegiate coach. Whitney has coached at multiple Division 1 institutions including Eastern Kentucky and Fresno State.
