Steve Hoffman is a 1981 graduate of Delphi and the son of John and Connie Hoffman, both of whom were educators in Delphi. He was the youngest of 3 brothers (Mike and Mark) all whom competed for the Oracles. Steve was coached by Tony Berto.
Steve was a 1981 Indiana Football North South All-star and 1980 1st team All-State selection as a quarterback. He captained the 1980 Oracles who went 8-2 and 5-1 in the Hoosier Conference. Steve also excelled in other sports competing in both basketball and baseball as a 3 sport athlete.
Upon graduation he attended Wabash College in Crawfordsville where he played football and baseball. At Wabash he would end his career with many single season marks at or near the top of the Wabash record books. Many of those records are still inside the top 5-25 of each category. After graduation Steve became a science teacher and coach at Noblesville before returning to his beloved Alma Mater and becoming known as a "Mr. Everything" at Wabash. He coached, joined administration in alumni relations, and happily promotes all things Wabash.
In his spare time he still gives back to high school athletics as an IHSAA licensed official and made history with his football crew working the first ever 6A State Finals at Lucas Oil Stadium. He has since refereed more than one football State Championship, and also officiates basketball.
Steve is married to Dawn and they reside in Crawfordsville.
He has 4 sons Brandon, Corey, Ryan, and Christian.
