Terrie graduated from Delphi Community High School in 1980.
She is the daughter of Tony and Marilyn Berto, and was coached by her father and Linda Baumgartner.
Terrie is a 2024 Hall of Fame and Ring of Honor inductee and qualified for the Wall of Fame in golf by reaching the state finals in 1979. She went on to excel at the collegiate level and professional level. As a scholarship member of the girls’ golf team at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, she earned four varsity letters, multiple George Huff Awards, and AIAW All-State honors for the Illini. After graduation she turned professional and competed in 127 events as a part of the LPGA Tour. Following her retirement from competitive play, Terrie continued her dedication to the game of golf working as a brand ambassador to tour players for equipment companies such as Ping and Head.
In addition to her golf accolades, she was a high school track and field standout where she set several school records, showcasing her exceptional speed and agility. She competed on the basketball court as a member of Delphi’s first ever girls’ basketball sectional final team, and started for the club softball team every year starting in junior high with girls 5 and 6 years her elder. She earned the Paul Lostutter award and was named Female Athlete of the Year for her graduating class.
