Steve is a DCHS graduate from the class of 1967

He is the son of G. Marvin Brehmer and Juanita F. "Pete" Brehmer Scott, and was coached by Tony Berto.

Steve quarterbacked all three of the undefeated Delphi football teams of 1964, 1965, and 1966. Due to his performances, Steve was selected for the AP All-State Football Teams in 1965 and 1966, a HS All-American in 1966, and played in the 1966 North-South All-star Game in Indianapolis.

Upon graduation Steve accepted a scholarship to play quarterback at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. He was a quarterback on the 1968 and 1969 Illini teams.

Steve is married to Margy. They have 2 sons Troy and Adam.
