กรมอุตุนิยมวิทยา ประเทศไทย มีเว็บไซด์สําหรับการพยากรณ์อากาศ และมีการออก ประกาศเตือนสภาพอากาศ ที่เว็บไซด์ http://www.tmd.go.th ซึ่งนักศึกษาสามารถไปค้นคว้าเพิ่มเติมได้

ให้นักศึกษาศึกษาประกาศเตือนของกรมอุตุนิยมวิทยาภาษาอังกฤษข้างล่างนี้และ เปรียบเทียบกับคําประกาศเตือนฉบับเดียวกัน แต่เป็นภาษาไทยให้นักศึกษาหาความหมายของคําใน ประกาศในตารางข้างท้าย

5.2 ข้อควรปฏิบัติในการเข้าชมพิพิธภัณฑ์ (Museum Rules)

Museum Rules

Please help the museum staff protect works of arts on view in the galleries by following the rules listed below. We appreciate your help keeping the art safe so that it may be enjoyed by many generations to come!

Do not touch works of art. Your touch may not seem like much, but even the slightest contact can damage the surface of a painting, discolor stone, and even rust metal.

Keep a safe distance between you and each work of art. This helps to avoid accidental touching or bumping.

Use only pencils. If an accident should occur. A pencil mark is easier to remove than a pen mark. Members of the security and visitor services staff are happy to provide a pencil if you would like to write or draw during your museum visit. Be careful not to point with your pencil or other objects; this can endanger the works of art.

No leaning on walls or cases (either to write or for physical support). This help keep works of art hung on the walls or displayed in cases safe. Feel free to sit on the benches or the floor as you talk, write, or draw.

No food, drink, or gum is allowed in the galleries. The art in the museum will provide plenty of food for thought as well as a feast for the eyes! Running, pushing and roughhousing are not allowed in the museum. Appropriate museum behavior is necessary to avoid accidentally bumping into an damaging works of art.

Photography is allowed only after you review and sign a photo release form at the Visitor Services Desk. Only works of art owned by Dartmouth College may be photographed. No flash photography is allowed because the intensity of the light damages the art.

5.3 คําแนะนําในการปรุงอาหารไทย

ผัดเปรี้ยวหวานไก่ เป็นอาหารขึ้นชื่อของประเทศไทยไปทั่วโลก นักศึกษาทําผัด เปรี้ยวหวานไก่เป็นหรือไม่ ลองคุยกับเพื่อนว่า ผัดเปรี้ยวหวานไก่ เขาทํากันอย่างไร หรือจะชวนกันทํา เป็นอาหารกลางวัน อาหารเย็นก็ได้

คราวนี้ เรามาดูวิธีการทําเปรี้ยวหวานไก่ เป็นภาษาอังกฤษนะครับ แต่ก่อนอื่นขอให้ ศึกษาคําศัพท์ที่เกี่ยวข้องก่อน

วิธีปรุง (Preparation)

Thai Chicken Sweet and Sour Recipe.

Slice the chicken breast into thin strips, and marinate with ½ teaspoon of salt, ½ teaspoon of pepper and a pinch of corn flour mixed with the rice wine or sherry. Leave to marinate for 15 – 30 minutes while making the sauce.

To make the sweet and sour sauce, take tomato ketchup, cucumber, onions, salt, sugar, pepper and some water or stock and mix in a saucepan.

Then bring to the boil and simmer on a low heat for 10 – 15 minutes whilst frequently stirring. Mix the corn flour with a little bit of water till dissolved and pour straight into the boiling sauce.

Mix in and remove from the heat when the sauce has thickened.

Heat up the oil on a low heat in a frying pan or work.

Add the chicken and fry until golden and crispy on the outside.

Crush the garlic and add to the pan, stirring until you can smell the garlic but so as not to burn it.

Chop the vegetable into chunks or slices and add them all into the pan.

Stir fry for a few minutes until the onion starts to go a little soft and then add the sweet and sour sauce.

Cook for another couple of minutes to combine the flavors and you are ready to serve. Serve with Jasmine Rice or Noodles, then enjoy!
