Lia Crotti, Associate Professor

Lia Crotti is associate professor of Cardiology at the University Milano Bicocca in Milan and she is the head of the Cardiomyopathy Unit in the IRCCS Istituto Auxologico Italiano in Milan, Italy. Furthermore, she has a leading role in the Center for Cardiac Arrhythmias of Genetic Origin and Laboratory of Cardiovascular Genetics of the same Institute.

Lia Crotti is an internationally renowned expert in channelopathies and cardiomyopathies and her research interests are mainly focused on the genetic basis of sudden cardiac death, in genetically transmitted arrhythmogenic diseases, and in more common heart diseases, such as myocardial infarction. Furthermore, her research is focused on the improvement of the clinical management and treatment of patients affected by arrhythmogenic diseases. She is associate editor of Europace and co-editor in chief of Cardiogenetics. In 2020 she was elected as vice-chair of the ECGgen group within EHRA and with her center she is part of the ERN GUARD heart that is the European Reference Network for Rare and Low Prevalence Complex Diseases of the Heart.

She regularly reviews manuscripts for all leading journals in cardiology and she is author or co-author of 152 peer reviewed papers and 19 book chapters. Her total Impact factor is 1210 with a total H-index of 44.

Besides her home Country (Italy) she has been spending research periods in the USA, South Africa, and Germany

Prof. Gianfranco Parati is a specialist in Cardiology and Internal Medicine and professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at Univ.Milano-Bicocca. He is Scientific Director of Istituto Auxologico Italiano and Head of Cardiology Unit at San Luca Hospital, Milan, Italy. Roberto Menè, MD

Roberto Menè works at the Cardiovascular Medicine of the University of Milan Bicocca. His research activity is mainly focused on the application of Artificial Intelligence techniques in the medical field, with a particular interest in natural language processing, medical image analysis and virtual patient simulators. The results of his studies have been published in several peer-reviewed articles. During the pandemic, he worked in a COVID-19 subinentsive care unit and coordinated a team of doctors in collecting research-relevant clinical data.
