Francesco Castelli, Full Professor.

Prof. Francesco Castelli is deputy rector of the University of Brescia and full professor of infectious diseases. he was director of the specialty school of Infectious and tropical diseases. Graduated in medicine and surgery at the University of Pavia, he has a specialization in infectious diseases and one in tropical medicine. Since 2011 he is Head, University Division of Infectious and Tropical Diseases (50 beds), and Chair, Department of Medicine at Spedali Civili General Hospital & University of Brescia, Italy. His research activity concerns epidemiology, and clinical aspects, with particular regard to clinical trials in HIV infection and co infection, HBV, HCV, tropical and travel imported infections and vertically transmitted congenital infections. Lui main Author of 314 publications on peer-reviewed journals, with an overall gross Impact Factor (IF) of 1004,313. He is the author of 210 articles on Italian journals / Congresses ’Proceedings and he is Author of 113 books’ chapters.

Cristina Minardi, MD

Doc. Cristina Minardi is the holder of a scholarship to the clinical of infectious and tropical diseases at ASST Spedali Civile in Brescia. She graduated in biological sciences from the University of Milan, she worked as responsible for the laboratory component of the activities concerning the epidemiological study on the prevalence of HLA-B * in HIV-infected patients.

Maria Eugenia Quiros-Roldan, Associate Professor

Dott.ssa Quiros-Roldan is Associate Professor of Medicine (Infectious Diseases) at University of Brescia. She is a Senior Consultant in Infectious Diseases and HIV specialist at Spedali Civili General Hospital & University of Brescia, Italy. Author of 250 publications on peer-reviewed journals (Pubmed). The main research topics are HIV infection and co-infections, Antiretroviral therapy, Tropical, travel-related and imported infections an COVID-19 pathogenesis and therapy.




Isabella Zanella, Assistant Professor

Dr. Isabella Zanella is Assistant Professor of Biochemistry at the Department of Molecular and Translational Medicine, University of Brescia. She is a Senior Consultant in Clinical Chemistry and Biochemistry at ASST-Spedali Civili di Brescia (Laboratory of Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics). The main research topics are the role of iron homeostasis and inflammation in HIV infection, hereditary neurodegenerative diseases and metabolic diseases; COVID-19 pathogenesis and therapy; genetics/genomics of neurodegenerative diseases.



Melania degli Antoni, MD

Doc. Degli Antoni graduated in medicine and surgery at the University of Pavia, worked as a research doctor at the I.R.C.C.S. Policlinico San Matteo Pavia where you worked in the immunological evaluation of the immunocompromised patient. She currently works as a resident doctor at the School of Specialization in Tropical Infectious Diseases at ASST Spedali Civili of Brescia, University of Brescia.
