Creating Google Sites

Portfolios - One-time Projects - Blogs

This free resource is great for students completing individual or collaborative work. The ability to incorporate other Google resources makes it a perfect option for any PBL.

Example Project - Personal Finance

Diane Keuth's Personal Finance classes are creating Google sites as a portfolio for the semester. One of the items they are incorporating is a vision board created in Google Drawings. Check out the playlist of quick instructional videos that we created to help support students as they built their sites.

Example Project: LinkedIn Pages for Historical Figures

Kristin Gulinski and I worked to create a LinkedIn template in Google Sites that we can copy and share out to students for an upcoming project. Students will be asked to research a historical figure, complete the LinkedIn template, and make "connections" with other historical figures assigned within the class. Check out a version of the basic template here. Kristin has modified her copy to fit the project needs more specifically.

Example Project: World History Portfolios

Students in World History started out the semester by creating a personal portfolio in Google Sites. Different pages are created for the various unit projects and students share their completed work with the teachers for grading. One of the earlier projects included students embedding personal timelines and links to interviews they conducted.
