As a district, we have now invested in a license that covers all teachers and students through the 2021-2022 school year. At Central, we have created portfolio accounts for all students using their @d127 email addresses so rosters can be built for your courses.

Teachers, when you first create your account in ClassKick it will send your instructional coach an email asking your account to be verified. Once the account is verified, you will have access to the list of students to build rosters, etc. We will verify accounts as quickly as we can, please be patient.

Please reach out to an instructional coach if you have questions.

Why Use Classkick?

Classkick is an online tool that allows you to create or upload assignments for your students to work on individually using text boxes, touchscreen writing, and/or audio recording. Teachers can view and provide feedback while students are working on the assignments from the dashboard. Students can also raise their hand virtually to solicit help from the teacher and other students if the setting is enabled. This is a great way to build a sense of community and improve the feedback loop within your courses.

Students Add to Rosters

ClassKick recommends that students add themselves to rosters using an assignment code or link. Check out this instructional page from ClassKick on how to have students add themselves to your course roster.

How do I get access to the paid features in Classkick?

When you first signup in Classkick, make sure that you login using your D127 Google account. If you select that you are part of Grayslake Central or Grayslake North, a verification email will be forwarded to Shanna Piggott (Central) or Tom New (North). Once verified, your account will be connected to the district subscription.

Can I work with a co-teacher in ClassKick?

Unfortunately, ClassKick does not allow multiple individual teachers to be assigned to the same class. The work-around that they offer is a second password to the account of the teacher assigned to the class. Teacher A would log in with their Google account and teacher B would have a second password to use with teacher A's email address to log in and work simultaneously. This is not ideal but the best option available at this time.

Please visit this page to request a second password for co-teaching situations.

Can I share assignments or copies of assignments with other teachers using Classkick?

Yes, the fastest way to share an assignment with another teacher is to click on the "share" icon next to the assignment title on the assignment list. From the share pop-up window, select "Share a Copy with Colleagues" to send an email or copy the share link.

Can student crowd sourcing help be turned off?

Yes, when you assign an activity to a roster you can turn off "helpers" which would limit interaction and visibility between the students.

Can assignments be edited after they are assigned and opened by students?

Yes, if you make changes to the original assignment those changes should appear on the student versions of the assignments.

Is it possible to organize materials in classkick?

A little bit, you are allowed one layer of folders only but there are some other ways to keep materials from becoming overwhelming. You could create a new roster for each unit or every few units and have the students join the new roster when the new materials begin.

If I add videos to the assignment, where do they show up for students?

If you add a link to a video or resource from your drive, they will open in another window for the students. If you add a link to a YouTube video, it shows up in the Classkick window.

Can students type characters from other languages?

Yes, if they have an alternate language keyboard installed. Students can toggle between the English and alternate language keyboards and the characters will appear in the typed answers in Classkick.
