Aprendí que llegar alto no es crecer;
I learned that coming tall is not growing;
to look, it is not always to stare
life is a beauty
Working, family, and time to forgive
So take it with being calm
do whatever you want and appreciate nature
life is fragile
Life is short, don't take life for granted
Each year that pass
It creates a door
Remembering memories
Most of them have made us laugh as well as cry
We look forward to the mercy
Waiting for our wishes to be granted
Living life as we desire
Looking forward, never backward
My inspiration came from the poem we were reading in Spanish class. The writing process wasn't difficult because of how of personal experience of growing up as a young girl trying to find her meaning in life. I used metaphors, symbolism, Irony, and more. I structured my poem by writing it down and then fixing it and typing it down to a Google doc. I am expressing the themes of reflection and appreciating life's simple pleasures. I'm a 16-year-old and back then I would have wanted to become older, but as I became older I learned that I needed to stop having that mentality and live in the present.
