Paths of My Life
There are many things that happen in life
Stress, Anxiety, and depression are the most
Melted. looking for things
to overcome melancholy
There are many obstacles that await me
But it is God who recovers me
I ask God for a good life
One full of riches
But there are many positive things
that fills me with joy
My family is one and also
The achievements of my life
Having a positive mind
It would help you for the triumph of your life
It's not easy and it's hard
But with the power of God everything is possible
Liliana Sanchez: What inspired me to write this poem is a poet named Antonio Machado who wrote a poem about life. He wrote the good things about life as well as the bad things that happen in life. My writing process with the poem is that my partner and I wanted to do something similar to the topic of Antonio Machado. In the poem, we included stuff that has to do with mental health because that can take a big toll on a person in their everyday lives. We mentioned our religion with Jesus because with Jesus you can overcome anything. Then we switched it to being positive and the good things in life like family and friends. Also having a positive mentality and having faith in God is a good way to overcome challenges. The literary devices that we used in the poem are imagery and metaphors. We structured the poem by stating the bad things about life in the first two stanzas and then ending it off with the good stuff in life and being positive. The theme that we are exploring in our writing is a person's life by stating struggles and successes they may have encountered. The poem relates to me because I have struggles in my life that get the best of me and it changes my mood but I also have to remember to keep a positive mindset and that everything is going to work out.
Mariajose Alvarenga: My inspiration was the writing style of Antonio Machado. He was very descriptive of his life stories. My writing process was stressful because it took my partner and i a while to figure out what rhymes with what. I used metaphors and imagery to make the poem feel more like a point of view you could visualize I structured my poem from a sad perspective and gradually changed the scenery to make it feel more happy. Antonio Machado did the same as he changed his plots from happy to sad. I explored themes that related to a person's life. What I mean is we wrote a poem that symbolized what a person goes through in phases.
