English Translation:
In the wake of love that fades away,
Lies the echo of a vanishing dream,
I leave behind the shadows, my heart grows,
It's time to move on, life offers me.
Among memories and whispers of yesterday,
I find strength to be reborn, By God's side, I learn again,
That after a goodbye, there's a new dawn.
The failure of my love was not your fault
Your love is the last thing missing from me
Living without your grace, my soul cries
The illusion of your face, beauty, like the moon in the ocean
My mind, thinking of you, burns like the sun
To die by your side is my only goal
A rose that stings, is the same color of love
A life with you, is a poor life

I was inspired to write this poem with my personal experiences in life and to convey a sense of connection with people passing though the same thing. The writing process wasn't hard overall, just pouring my emotions to sorta create something that I related to. Only techniques I used were the rhythm and the stanzas to which Ms. Lugo reminded me. I wouldn't say I structured it, I just went with the flow and well this is how it came out. Overall the themes I was exploring was like a Sad and personal theme. I'm a junior with great interest and often question everything about me. I love self improvement and will find anything to improve and master in.

I was inspired by the past experiences of my life along with the past experiences of the lives of others in regard to relationships and the hardships of them that result in mental illness or are a result of mental illness. While writing I thought of extreme cases during relationships where a partner feels they can't live without the other and I wanted the reader to interpret it how they wanted such as an exaggerated love for someone felt by a partner, a deep metaphorical love that someone may feel, or a real experience that someone that deals with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) may face in a relationship of any kind. I wanted to use imagery to emphasize how important the partner is to the narrator. I’m a junior and I love thinking about how to understand people better. After highschool, I want to pursue a career in neurology.
