Positive Feedback of the Week 👍
Email sent to Mrs Arnold - Amazing Work Experience Week (WEX )
"I just wanted to let you know that I just rang Holycross Primary School where Tristan is doing his WEX and they could not have been more positive.
Both the receptionist and classroom teacher (reception class) said he had been absolutely amazing. All the staff have loved having him around, he is proactive in helping out and has been a big asset in the classroom.
Thought you might like to know so you can congratulate him next week."
Mr Rob Denby
"Mike has been a godsend this week, and we are so lucky to have had him with us. He has arrived punctually and fitted in with a very flexible timetable, owing to it being SATs week. This has included supporting SEN learners who were not taking the tests with working on an independent project, which he undertook with a natural flair for mentoring and attention to detail, ensuring each learner's needs were met and new skills were acquired (using Google Slides to create a presentation), which really was going above and beyond. Mike has also shared some of their maths hacks with the class during revision sessions, and amazingly, some children used these to score additional points in their SATs paper the subsequent day -this really was a gift!
Mike has also tried out spending a morning in our Reception class, at 'the other end' of the primary age range, and this too was a success: Mike worked under the supervision of our EYFS lead to support children's learning in their Enquiry into Butterflies, Change and Transformations.
Keen to make good use of his time, Mike has been proactive about finding out what is required next, and readily followed all instructions to the letter. Mike has really impressed me with the natural way in which he has set a boundary with my Year 6 pupils who would otherwise very much like to be on 'friendly' terms with any visitor to the class, especially if this person is also young. This has not been a problem for Mike, who has maintained a kind and calm demeanor when engaging with the children, behaving very much like an adult professional within the setting.
We shall be sorry to see him go, and would welcome him back any time."

Year 8
Year 8 Update
Throughout this past week, our Year 8 students have been dedicating their morning registration sessions to focus on the "5 Ways of Wellbeing." These sessions have involved a tailored programme of PSHE, specifically centred around exploring relationships, but not with others. Instead, the focus has been on fostering a healthy relationship with oneself and understanding the impact of social media on personal wellbeing.
Over the course of the past few weeks, our students have delved into a variety of important topics during their PSHE sessions. These include discussions on body image, bullying, the importance of sleep, societal beauty standards, and awareness about online safety such as phishing and fraud.
We believe that these discussions are crucial in providing our students with the necessary tools to navigate the complexities of today's world while promoting their overall wellbeing.
Thank you for your continued support in our efforts to provide a comprehensive education for your child.

Digital Literacy Corner
Topic: Misinformation Online
There is a lot of information online that is incorrect/fake or misleading and it can sometimes be difficult for adults to distinguish between what is true and what is fake, never mind for younger people. We need to develop digital literacy skills in our children by encouraging them to think critically about what they read online and to fact check. Both the BBC and Channel 4 have fact checking areas on their websites:
One way to start the conversation would be to play a game such as ‘Can you spot the signs of fake news?’ from the BBC:
