Thank you for the positive feedback 👍
A lovely piece of feedback we received on Thursday 9 February from a parent. Thank you so much it is a real boost when we read these lovely comments.
Thank you
Dear Ms Butler
I have to write to say thank you to your team and Melvin's steel pans concert last night. It was amazing. But more than that, it gave me a little insight into the workings of the school......Mr Farmer has been exceptionally helpful with settling my child in and responding to my emails in a timely and helpful and kind manner. This has been great. Last night really confirmed we made the right choice by sending her to Cotham. My child looked in her element and the kids seemed so vibrant and positive. It was a great show.

Bristol Education Partnership
As part of the Bristol Education Partnership, last week Cotham hosted several other schools for a Philosophy Society. One of our Year 13 Philosophers, Ed B, delivered an outstanding presentation on ‘What is religion?’ to over 50 students and staff from a range of local schools. Huge well done to Ed.
Please see some of the feedback from staff from other schools about the event and in particular Ed.
'Thank you for organising such a super Philosophy Society meeting today. It was refreshing to have a wider range of schools involved. Your student presenter was marvellous; he responded to the range of questions thrown at him with such aplomb and confidence - he really is a philosopher.' - Member of staff at Redmaid’s High School.
'I think I speak for us all when I thank you for another excellent Phil Soc yesterday. I thought Ed did a fantastic job of presenting on a very thought provoking topic. We’ve been referring to it in our lessons today.' - Member of staff at QEH,
‘Ed was extraordinary. What a role model for the other students. If he doesn’t apply to OxBridge it would be a crying shame.’ Member of staff at Clifton High School
Turkey and Syria Earthquake
Thank you for your kind donations, Sigma House managed to raise £209.25 in this week's cake sale. All of the money raised has been donated to help the victims of the Turkey and Syria Earthquakes. The students were also incredibly well behaved, picking up their litter and listening to the instructions of the prefects and duty teachers. Thank you all for your support with this.

Year 10 Students in GCSE Food
Year 10 Students in GCSE Food have made the sticky toffee cookies that were linked to last weeks post for the Year 8 Lesson on Fibre and digestion. These cookies are part of Fibre February encouraging us to incorporate more fibre rich foods into our diets. The dates, oats, wholemeal flour and oats are a great source of soluble and insoluble Fibre in our diets. They were very popular with the Year 10 students. The pictures of the Sticky toffee cookies are linked below. Please find the adapted school version of the recipe here with picture guides. We would love to see student outcomes made at home.
