Justin McLaughlin is a Registered Nurse and Counsellor and the Head of Student Wellbeing at Kellett School.
He completed his nursing training at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne, and worked as an Associate Charge Nurse at the Avenue Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. In 2008 Justin completed a Masters in Counselling from Monash University.
Justin uses a combination of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Strengths Based and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT).
In 2013 Justin was awarded Hong Kong School Nurse of the Year and in 2014 became a fellow of Paediatric Nursing.
Justin is affiliated with the Hong Kong School Counsellors group and has helped to organise various events for school counsellors in Hong Kong.
Justin works at Pok Fu Lam campus on Wednesday and Kowloon Bay campus Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri.
Tisha George

Tisha George has worked with children and adolescents for over seven years as a counsellor in India and Hong Kong. Tisha completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling from University of Mumbai and a Masters in Counselling from Monash University, Australia.
Using a person-centered approach, Tisha engages her students through different therapeutic approaches, primarily Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. She also incorporates Mindfulness and Positive Psychology to support the individual needs of her students to navigate the ups and downs in life. Tisha is passionate about inclusion and Mental Health care being made available to everyone irrespective of their cultural or socio economic background.
Tisha works at the Kowloon Bay Campus from Monday to Friday.
Jeni Chesnut-Tangerman has over 15 years of experience in education, first as a teacher and school supervisor before completing a Masters in International School Counselling from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania, USA. Having worked in several international schools in Hong Kong over the past decade, she is passionate about social-emotional literacy, psychoeducation for parents and teachers, trauma-informed schools, and inclusive education.
Jeni’s theoretical orientation in counselling uses a combination of Person-Centered, Solution-Focused (SFBT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and she offers individualized support tailored for each student’s unique needs and strengths.
Jeni is a member of the Hong Kong Professional Counselling Association and the American Counseling Association, and presented at the International School Counselor Association (ISCA) Conference in 2023.
She works at Pok Fu Lam campus on Tuesdays and Kowloon Bay campus Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
Sue Parsons is a Hong Kong Registered Nurse who completed her training in Melbourne, Australia. Since then Sue has worked in a variety of clinical settings . Prior to joining Kellett School, Sue worked as a Registered Nurse on the Surgical Unit at the Hong Kong Adventist Hospital for 12 years.
Sue is a First Aid Trainer for ECSI and recently completed a Mental Health First Aid course through Mental Health First Aid Australia.
Sue finds that a good understanding of how mental health issues can manifest themselves physically in the students very helpful to her work at Kellett School.
Kathy Caroll-Lea is a New Zealand trained Registered Nurse with over 30yrs of experience in NZ, HK, UK and UAE. Kathy has lived and worked in Hong Kong for 27 years and has been a part of the Wellbeing Team at the Pok Fu Lam Campus for 7 years.
Kathy’s specialty area was Accident and Emergency, and Kathy also recently became a Cannulation Specialist. Kathy is a First Aid Trainer for ECSI First Aid both within the school and for Coaches and Sports Companies in the wider community. Kathy recently completed a Mental Health First Aid course through MindHK and is also an EFT Level 2 Practitioner.
Kathy believes that health and wellness, in mind and body, are crucial to effective learning and managing the daily stressors encountered by our children. Kathy works with children to support good coping strategies and tools so that the children can feel able to face each day with tenacity, resilience and a positive outlook.
Claudea Lau

Claudea Lau is a Hong Kong Registered Nurse who completed her training in University of Hong Kong. Since then, Claudea has worked in a variety of clinical settings in the past 10 years. Prior to joining Kellett School, she worked in some top international schools in Hong Kong.
Claudea has experience in sports nursing and has completed a course of sport emergency nursing in Hong Kong.
Claudea works every Tuesday and Wednesday in Kowloon Bay Campus.
