The City of Big Lake would like to remind you that the City no longer provides alley clean up services.  Please do not leave junk, debris or any type of loose garbage in the alley easements behind your property.  Violators are subject to receiving a Class C misdemeanor violation punishable by a fine up to $500.00 and State Court Costs of $76.00.

Registration Required For All Golf Carts Operated On City Streets

Section 12.06.002 of the Big Lake Code of Ordinances requires all golf carts operated on streets and parking areas of the city must be registered with the City on annual basis in January of each year. The registration fee is $12.00 per year and a registration form will be available at City Hall for residents to complete and provide the basic information needed. All operators must meet state law driver's license requirements and age limit to operate a golf cart. Any person violating this ordinance, upon conviction, shall be deemed guilty of a Class C misdemeanor and shall be fined up to $500.00 plus Court Costs. 

Door To Door Solicitors

The City has become aware of several complaints involving subjects who are soliciting their product to residents.  Please be aware that these individuals are required to be permitted to sell to the public.  You, as a resident, are encouraged to ask to see their City issued permit.  You may ask them to leave your property, if you wish.  If they fail to do so, you may contact the Sheriff's Department at 325-884-2424 for further assistance.
