The City of Big Lake holds an election the first Saturday of May every year. The purpose of the election is to elect the Mayor and Council members. All Councilmembers serve as 'At Large' positions for two years.

There are 3 council member positions up for the May 3, 2025 election.
Applications for Place on the Ballot can be picked at City Hall. They can be filed starting January 15, 2025 until February 14, 2025 at 4:00 p.m.

Early voting takes places at the Reagan County Courthouse, 300 N. Plaza Avenue.
