Painting (Elective): Process

These pieces from my painting class are more or less a physical manifestation of the way I felt using a medium I really connect with. I’ve always been attracted to oil paint in some way, and I think the reason for this is because I don’t overthink in the way I do with some other mediums.

As for whether my experience using oil paint is considered progress or process, it could really go both ways. My paintings have progressed my ability, but since the finality of these pieces was unimportant in this journey, I think that my progress stemmed from the process. For this reason, I’ve labeled these pieces as process.

Drawing: Progress

These drawings were made with markers and a ballpoint pen. I had a very hard time working on drawings this semester. That’s why, for these drawings, I took from what I learned in painting class and transferred it into my drawing class. I identified them as progress.
