Process/Progress

When I’m working on a piece, process and progress tend to work together and go at the same pace. My process is the ideas that I come up with for my work and how I execute those ideas. I think that a process is unique to the type of work and the meaning behind it and that each process is slightly different in its own way. Progress directly coincides with process and is really just how far into my work I’ve gotten and what new ideas I’ve added into it...

...For my floral watercolors, the process of the sketch layer was very repetitive, but when it came to the watercolor part, my process varied and came out differently every time. And for my dental studies and illustration, my progress was very different in the way that I executed the drawings. While my process and progress always begin in a similar manner, they always end up with different and unique end results.
