Season of Sharing Alameda County provides housing assistance and critical families needs assistance to eligible households in Alameda County who demonstrate a critical need arising from emergency circumstances beyond their control.

Critical Families Needs Assistance
Utilities (electricity, gas, or water) under threat of shut-off or already shut off at current residence
Limited furniture items under specific circumstances including fire/catastrophe, extended homelessness, and domestic violence.
Limited medical equipment and mobility aids (deemed medically necessary and not otherwise covered by insurance).
CalWORKs participants may be eligible to obtain assistance with permanent and temporary housing, help with moving costs, eviction prevention, and case management. To see if you are eligible, click on each program's button:

The City of Fremont's "Keep Fremont Housed" program can provide assistance for unpaid rent and utilities dating back as far as April 1, 2020, the date of the federal COVID-19 emergency declaration. Applicants may apply for rental assistance, utility assistance, or both.
ELIGIBILITY: Must be a Fremont resident. Must have a household income at or below 80% Area Median Income (AMI). One or more individuals within the household has qualified for unemployment benefits or experienced a reduction in household income, incurred significant costs, or experienced other financial hardship due, directly or indirectly, to the COVID-19 pandemic. One or more individuals within the household can demonstrate a risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability

The Fremont Fair Housing & Landlord Tenant agency provides landlords and tenants with confidential counseling for all rental housing questions, including security deposits, repairs, termination of tenancy, evictions, privacy, right to entry, retaliation, and rent increases. The program also provides confidential counseling and investigation of housing discrimination complaints, referrals for legal assistance, and community education on fair housing laws.

The Sunrise Village Homeless Shelter is an emergency & transitional shelter for individuals and families with children. They provide those in need with a safe harbor where they can move to the next stage of their life.
