Junior Kindergarten Collage Trains
Junior Kindergarten created impressive trains after looking at the super fun flap-book "Planes, Cars, Trucks and Trains." We talked about recycled art and how we would be combining old cardboard and various buttons and wood scraps to make our trains interesting. They also painted patterns on their trains!
Kindergarten Model Clay Owls
Kindergarten heard the book "The Little White Owl" and they created a bold and colorful owl from Model Magic Clay!
First Grade Rainbow Fish & Kinder-2nd at Recluse
First grade heard the bool "The Rainbow Fish," then designed their own fish and weaved the rainbow into their fish! These have gotten lots of "ooohs" and "aaaahs!"
Kindergarten & 2nd Grade Moonlit Landscape
Kiddos at Recluse used awesome construction paper crayons to bring black paper to life by creating a landscape using background, middle ground and foreground.
Second Grade Sunflower Bowls
Second grade continued studying the art of Vincent Van Gogh and created these wonderful clay bowls inspired by his bright sunflower paintings.
Third- Fifth Grades Haring Art
Third, fourth and fifth grades at Recluse created Keith Haring inspired art by drawing on tinfoil with permanent marker. The repeating lines represent movement or sound.
Fourth Grade Ringgold Quilt
Fourth Grade heard the book "Tar Beach" by Faith Ringgold and then created their own quilt square by imagining what they want to own and then flying over it. We love the Ice Cream Cafe!
Fifth Grade Mosaic Skies
Fifth grade created a value painting and used it to create a mosaic representing the night sky. They chose an object seen in nature for a silhouette.
Sixth Grade One-Point City Scene
Sixth grade learned how to create a one-point perspective and then created a city scene in a wheel!
Sixth- Eighth Grade Radial Print
Students at Recluse applied a stamp printmaking technique to a radial design. They experimented with printing different color inks on different color papers.
Kindergarten & 2nd Grades Bluebonnets
Students heard the book "The Legend of the Blue Bonnet" and then created a mixed media piece with weaving on fiber, painting, drawing and collage.
Second Grade Matisse Beasts
Students heard the book "Henri's Scissors" and then created a paper collage of sea beasts in sea scenes.
Junior Kindergarten Clay Textured Heart Necklace
Students formed clay into hearts, stamped them to create texture and then painted them with bright watercolors paints. These are adorable necklaces!
First Grade Self-Esteem Flower
First grade heard the book "I'm Gonna Like Me," after we discussed positive character traits and things that make us unique. They wrote their personal traits on a flower then decorated them with patterns.
Fourth Grade Coil Pots
Fourth Grade created the classic coil pot by using an extruder to make coils, scoring and using slip to attached coils together and lastly glazing them with 2 fun colors.
Kindergarten Mountain of Mittens
Kindergarten heard a silly and fun book about leaving your mittens at school called "Mountain of Mittens." After, we discussed pattern and they colored their own mittens with markers filling them with bright patterns!
Third Grade Emoji Agamographs
Third grade had so much fun creating an emoji agamograph! They painted two different emoji's then cut them into strip, alternating as they glued down to create this interesting art.
Fourth Grade Koru Spirals
Fourth grade learned about ht Koru plant from New Zealand and created their own scene using permanent maker and oil pastels.
First Grade Fabric Scrap Bowl
First grade created a bowl from recycled materials: fabric scraps! WE got really messy and used a ton of glue!
Medieval Manuscript
Sixth grade watched an interesting video of how ancient manuscripts were made and then chose an initial and engraved their initial on engraving paper.
