The AV-Great-Problem Solver: A Fun Interdisciplinary Holiday Project (Grades I - VIII)
Project Goal: This project is not about grades, but about using your knowledge and creativity to solve real-world problems while strengthening your family bond and learning valuable life skills!
Project Weighting:
· Student Work (2.5 Marks): Completing assigned tasks and showcasing learning.
· Family Task (2.5 Marks): Active participation and support for the project.
Project Duration: Approximately 2 hours (flexible)
Instructions:
1. Choose Your Grade Level: Select the projects designed for your grade.
2. Gather Your Supplies: Depending on the project, you might need paper, pencils, crayons, scissors, glue, internet access (optional) etc.
3. Work Together!: This is a family project! Discuss the challenges and work collaboratively with parents/guardians to complete the tasks.
4. Holiday Book: Create a "Holiday Book" to document your project. Include drawings, pictures, notes, and anything else that showcases your work.
5. Submission: Complete the project by July 10th, 2024, and present your "Holiday Book" to your teacher.
Remember: Don't stress about perfection! Have fun, learn new things, and enjoy quality time with your family.
Grades I & II:
Project 1: The Healthy Garden (Maths, Science, English, Hindi, Art)
· Challenge: Design a healthy garden for your family!
· Maths & Science: Research different vegetables and fruits. Calculate the space needed for each plant.
· English & Hindi: Create labels for each plant in English and Hindi. Write a short story about your garden characters (vegetables!).
· Art: Draw or paint your garden plan.
· Family Task: Help your child plant seeds (indoors or outdoors) and take care of them together. Observe and document growth in your Holiday Book.
Project 2: The Recycling Racers (Social Science, Maths, Science, Computer Science (optional), English)
· Challenge: Design and build the fastest recycling car powered by wind or water!
· Social Science: Research the importance of recycling for the environment.
· Maths & Science: Use recycled materials to build your car. Calculate speed (optional - with adult help). Use computer programs for design (optional - with adult supervision).
· English: Write a short story about your car's journey through the recycling process.
· Family Task: Help your child collect safe, clean recyclable materials for the car. Race your car together and discuss the importance of recycling.
Grades III & IV:
Project 1: The Budget Brigade (Maths, English, Social Science, Gernal Knowledge)
· Challenge: Become a Budget Brigade and plan a family outing within a budget!
· Maths: Research and calculate costs for different outing options (transportation, food, activities). Create a budget chart.
· English: Write a proposal for the chosen outing, explaining the budget and activities.
· Social Science: Research the history and cultural significance of your chosen destination (if applicable).
· Gernal Knowledge: Learn simple phrases in the local language (if visiting a new place).
· Family Task: Discuss and choose a family outing together. Help your child research costs and create a budget.
Project 2: The Mythical Creature Mystery (Science, English, Hindi, Computer Science (optional), Art)
· Challenge: Research and create a new mythical creature based on local folklore or scientific discoveries!
· Science: Research different animal adaptations and create a unique creature with special abilities.
· English & Hindi: Write a story about your creature's origin and habitat in English and Hindi.
· Computer Science (optional): Use drawing software (with adult supervision) to illustrate your creature.
· Art: Draw or create a model of your mythical creature.
· Family Task: Discuss local folklore or interesting scientific discoveries. Help your child research and create a backstory for their creature.
Grades V - VIII (adapt difficulty as needed):
These projects can be more complex, allowing for deeper research and exploration but choose projects that challenge your knowledge and interests.

Project Ideas:
· Create a community garden with a focus on sustainability (Science, Social Science, Maths)
· Design a game that teaches a historical event or scientific concept (Maths, Computer Science, History/Science)
· Write a song or poem about a social issue and propose solutions (English, Music, Social Science)
· Plan a healthy meal plan for
PROJECT -2
· Plan a healthy meal plan for your family, considering budget, nutrition, and cultural preferences (Maths, Science, Social Science, Punjabi (optional))
· Research a local environmental issue and propose solutions (Science, Social Science, English, Punjabi (optional))
· Design a website or blog to promote a local business or cultural event (Computer Science, English, Social Science)
· Translate a popular children's story into Punjabi and illustrate it (English, Punjabi, Art)
Remember: These are just a few ideas to get you started! Feel free to modify them or come up with your own project that uses your imagination and combines different subjects in a fun way.
Additional Tips:
· Look for inspiration in your everyday life! Can you solve a problem at home, in your neighborhood, or in your community?
· Use libraries, museums, and the internet (with adult supervision) for research.
· Don't be afraid to ask for help from parents, teachers, or teachers!
· Most importantly, have fun and enjoy the learning process!

(1) *The summer activity Gradewise can be downloaded from the link below.*
(2) *Students will paste the downloaded page in a "Practical Notebook."*
(3) *Only a subject notebook of a particular subject & Attempt in the Print sheet will be used for Class Blooms (All) and II.*
(4) *Only one Practical Notebook will be used for one project (Class III to IX).*
(4.1) *There is a choice to choose one project from two projects for Class III to IX.*

This summer vacation will give you more time to explore the natural world and personal growth under the title
AV-Great-Problem-Solver.
The *open-ended problems* given in case studies give students work that feels connected to their lives.
*We learn and practice Solutions, Conversation, Reading, Crafting our Own Answers, and Spoken English.*
Every Subject will be covered under the 10 hours of learning/project/case study/research/Art integration project/Reading Skill/Problem-based.
And Three projects will be given /taken by the student that includes all subject learning with solutions for problems.
A choice will be given to the students to choose a minimum of 3 projects to craft.
This gave rise to the word HOW.
This will lead to the internal assessment (points).
Students can complete their notebook/map/project/any picture and diagram.
Sharing some Illustrations and Problems to guide you to become a great problem solver. (Ref the AV Student Announcement link)

A student may ask the problem based on any subject or writing issues by choosing the particular class and subject that includes the writing for the Question to the teacher.
All three projects will be communicated to you and the team of all SUBJECTS(TEACHERS) will lead these topics into a group.
The SVHW will lead to general research about the surroundings and note-making on the given Problem-based content or topic.
