or S2 Grade Calculations depending on the semester.
3) Select one of the three Calculation Options
A. Weighted Term Grades + Weighted Exams
Use this option if you will count each of the quarters individually for the semester grade.
1) Course with semester exam: In this example the semester grade is calculated 45% first quarter (T1), 45% second quarter (T2), and 10% for the semester exam (SE1). The percentages should be adjusted to match your course.
2) Course without semester exam: In this example the semester grade is calculated 50% first quarter (T1) and 50% second quarter (T2). This course would not have a semester exam so there is a 0 entered for the semester exam (SE1).
B. Cumulated Assignment Scores for all terms + Weighted Exams
Use this option if all the quarter (T1 and T2) grades are calculated equally when calculating the semester grade.
1) Course with semester exam: In this example the semester grade is calculated with 90% of the grade coming from the term grades (Cumulative Assignment Score) and 10% for the semester exam (SE1).
2) Course without semester exam: In this example the semester grade is calculated with 100% of the grade coming from the term grades (Cumulative Assignment Score) and a 0 entered for the semester exam (SE1).
C. Cumulated (Assignment and Exam) Scores
Available if the Score Method is set to Total Points. Instructions to change Score Method to Total Points.
This method calculated using the total points for all quarter grades (T1 and T2) in addition to the semester exam score entered in the gradebook.
1) Course with semester exam: If the course has a semester exam, enter these scores in the gradebook and the points will be calculated.
2) Course without semester exam: If not using a semester exam, do not record scores in the gradebook.
4) Click the Save button.
Each section can have a different semester grade calculation, so each section must be set-up to calculate the semester grade. Repeat the steps for the other class sections.
