Students can be added to the Pass/Fail or Pass/No Participation grade mark group instead of the standard grade mark group.
This procedure must be completed for each class that will be Pass/Fail.
Note: The Pass/Fail (P/U) special grade mark group was used in the final quarter of the 2019-2020 school year. The Pass/No Participation (P/NP) special grade mark group is used for virtual learners during the 2020-2021 school year.
The procedure below is the same for P/U and P/NP as both are special grade mark groups in Skyward.
1) Click the Grade Marks button from a class grade book.
(1) Scroll to the bottom of the Grade Marks column.
(2) Click the Select Students link.
(1) Click the box before the students to add to the special grade mark group.
(2) Click the Save button.
1) Click the Select Subjects/Skills link.
(1) Grades 1-5: Click the box before the Achievement subject.
(1) Kindergarten: Click the box that matches the subject of the grade book. This will be the top choice each time.
Note: Leave the box before each of the skills empty.
(2) Click the Save button.
The P grade mark will be displayed in the Achievement column of the grade book if the student's overall grade percentage is 59.50 or over.
If the percentage is 59.49 or below, a U or NP will be displayed in the Achievement column depending on the special grade mark available.
If there are no assignments entered for the quarter, a P, U, or NP can be entered directly. See instructions below.
The U or NP can be adjusted to a P the same as other grade marks. See instructions below.
1) Grades 1-5: Click any empty box under the Achievement column.
1) Kindergarten: Click any empty box under the subject.
(1) Type a P, U or NP in the Grade column for all students.
Grades 1-5: The default score percentage will be filled in automatically to the Score column and does not need to be adjusted.
Kindergarten will not show a Score column.
(2) Click Save.
Kindergarten
1) Click the U or NP from the Achievement column.
(1) Type a P in the box under the Grade column for the student(s).
Click off of the box and the percentage will be shown in the Amt column.
(2) Click the Save button.
