Assignments can be grouped into categories. If using weighted assignments, the categories are given weighted percentages. If using total points, the categories can group assignments for student progress reports.
Categories can be unique for each class so the categories must be set-up or copied in each class section.
Categories listed will be available when adding assignments.
Note: The categories can be changed, but must be changed district-wide. The recommendation is to make the assignments fit into these categories if at all possible. To request a category be added, contact the technology department.
1) Click the Add/Edit Categories button to change the categories.
2) Set-up the categories according to the Score Method. Instructions for changing from total points to percentages.
A. Score Method: Use total points to calculate grades
B. Score Method: Base grades on percents assigned to categories
These categories and/or weights can be used in other classes,
3) Click the Use These Categories For My Other Classes button.
4) Place a check mark before each class to use the current categories and/or weights.
5) Click the Save button.
6) Repeat this for other class sections that were not copied from step 3.
Note: The Score Method and Assignment Categories can be changed until the first term of the section is completed.
