Five Ways to Make Better Use of Time in Engineering

Engineering can be one of the best classes at BSM, but only if you use your time wisely!

1. Don’t work on other classes during engineering - It can be tempting, but to be successful, you need to focus on the task at hand. Working on homework due next period and dividing your attention won't benefit you.
2. Don’t procrastinate tasks - You will run into problems that you cannot immediately solve. Instead of ignoring the issue and moving on, here are a few quick solutions:
   • Ask your classmates for help.
   • Check the Wiki.
   • Google!
   • Ask the teacher, but only if you have exhausted all other options.
3. Avoid taking an excessive number of breaks - Remember, breaks are temporary, and not permanent. Don't overdo your breaks and remember that you have limited time to accomplish your goals!
4. Surround yourself with people that you can work with - If you get distracted while working with someone else, then you probably don't work well together. No hard feelings - you can be friends outside of class, but Engineering class isn't a party.
5. Don’t overburden yourself with several tasks and focus on one task, instead - Spreading your focus will only distract you, lead to procrastination, and lengthen the amount of time needed to finish simple tasks. One thing at a time!
