Creating a useful experiment
Write down answers to the questions:
- What is the measurable quantity of your SMART goal?
- This will be your dependent, or Y, variable
- What are you changing to effect your dependent variable?
- This will be your independent, or X, variable
- How will you be measuring your dependent variable?
- What things could effect the behavior of your experiment that you want to minimize?
- These are your controls. Control them.
- Test the results from your each value of your independent variable as many times as you can stomach.
- Use a minimum of 10 trials
