How to Access the Toolbox in Assembly.
If you are new to solid works, the toolbox is a great tool to have in your back pocket. It has pre-made bushings, nuts, o-rings, gears, pins, and more in varying options to choose from. It's a very great feature to have when assembling more the two parts. Here's how to set up your toolbox and how to use it!
To the left of the screen is the options tab. Next to it is a drop-down arrow. Click on the drop-down, then click on Add-ins.
Then, hit the activate box and the start-up box to the right and left of "Toolbox library". After, hit okay.
To access the toolbox, go to the far right and click on the tab right above the folder (it should look like three squares back to back).
After, many standards for measurements are available. Since we are in the US, we were going to pick the "ANSI Inch".
We can access all the valuable toolboxes features. Click on the general piece your looking for and view the pieces inside that folder. Then drag it to the planes.
Here you can adjust the piece your liking. Also, parts in assembly will automatically fill and adjust to any holes that the piece may go if you drag them to its location.
PRO Tip: If you're having trouble finding your toolbox tab because it's not on the right side of your screen, it's because you do not have your task pane showing. To fix this, follow these steps:
Right click on the Tools tab.
Go to toolbars and on the bottom right of the drop-down menu. Make sure that the Task Plane has a checkmark. Then it should appear on the right side of the screen.
Thats all!
