1. If the (:L) drive isn't loading restart the computer. Don't close the terminal window that pops up when the computer restarts.
2. Read the error message. If an error message comes out it might look intimidating but if you spend the time to read and understand them you will almost always figure out what the issue is. Computers are smarter than we are so use that to your advantage.
3. Restart the computer. A complex issue can sometimes be resolved by a quick and simple restart. If the computer refuses to power down, hold down the power button to force it to shut down.
4. Make sure everything is plugged in. When people get bored they might accidentally or purposefully unplug a component in the back of the computer and forget to plug it back in. Check behind the computer to ensure that every piece is plugged in properly.
5. If a monitor is not working, check to make sure it is plugged in and powered on. Check to see what input the monitor has plugged in, (HDMI or Display Port) and ensure that the monitor is accessing that input. If you find out that one of the keyboards/mice set it aside and tell your teacher that they are not working.
6. Take out your school computer and google the problem. While searching, make sure to be as descriptive as possible. Reliable websites to use are Tom's Hardware, Quora, and Reddit (Blocked on laptops, use your phone). Follow the guide that the website gives you and if that does not work, attempt it on another website.
7. Ask a Teacher. If all else fails and you can not find a solution to the issue, it is not a bad idea to ask an adult. (however don't do this commonly, they have better things to do) Sometimes a computer can be really screwed up and they're might be no fixing it. If you cannot get it to work go to a different computer.
