Hello A Level Computer Scientists,
I am so excited that you have chosen to study A Level Computer Science here at Bohunt Sixth Form.
In preparation for the start of the course in September, you will find a selection of articles you may want to read that show how exciting technology will be in the future from AI to Quantum Computing.
Also, computer programming is a very important part of the A Level course, so you will find a short programming assignment for you to complete over the Summer holidays. It is nothing too difficult, but will get you prepared for the programming lessons which start in the first week.

Work that is expected will be completed and will form part of the first few weeks of teaching.
In preparation for the course, please make sure that you install the Eclipse IDE for Java Developers onto a PC or laptop.
This can be downloaded from https://www.eclipse.org/downloads/packages/release/2024-12/r/eclipse-ide-java-developers
Once installed, work your way through the Java Development Tutorial that is included in the software to complete the Hello World Java application.
Once you have completed this, try to create a random number generator using the code example that can be found here:
