Abstract
Critically thinking about a Church may seem taboo to some members of its community. Churches, however, are the most likely institutions in today's society to be corrupt and need such inner-criticism, despite their pure and God-fearing façade. My research aims to uncover the ugly truths of the Nondenominational Christian Church in terms of the abuse of capitalism within the Church’s “gospels.” The abuse of power and financial corruption within the movement’s churches are a well-known and long-standing problem by its members, but people in the Church who try to speak out are ostracized, allowing the leaders of the Church to sustain the flow of its patrons’ funds. It is crucial to bring these problems to attention and hold them accountable in order to (re)establish what the Church’s real purpose is beyond profit-making.
